"SNDS" sounds an aweful lot like issues relating to silicon thermal expansion and contraction. The P4 is a large area CPU, this means more expansion and contraction, but the nature of different types and grades of silicon plays a bigger role.

In reference to thermal expansion, I genuanly believe AMD's "T-die" technology is an asset to them.
