Drive sink contact

I've got me an aluminum sink that I'm going to use for a drive sink. It's just the perfect width to use on a 3.5inch drive but the length is about an inch or two too long. Once I've got that trimmed I'm going to lap the bottom and then mount it. I'm thinking of using standard white goop for transfer paste but I'm not sure about one thing. The paper lable on top of the drive will make it an uneven surface to mount the sink onto. I'm not going to remove the paper label so I'm wondering if that will make any difference? I'm planning to put the white goop on the rest of the drive but not on the part where the paper label is and then have either epoxy or super glue on the corners holding the sink on. The sink will be cooled on the top by a 92mm 48cfm fan. So does anyone think that having the paper label in there will be of any significance? I know the drives are meant to run without any drive cooling but we see more and more that modern drives just aren't living up to that standard. My Maxtor died after 1 year. My Seagate died after 4 months! I don't want this Seagate to go in 4 months too. Does anyone have any suggestions they think might be helpful?
