Weyell, when you're overclocking you have to deal with a lot of extra heat. The only way to beat the noise of air cooling is to go with a refrigerated case, or a water cooled system.

I recently read that all of the fan manufacturer's lie through their teeth in the noise specs that they print. And they don't say that their fans make more noise than they actually do!

The loud 80mm you have seems to be giving you good CPU temps. Screamingly loud boxes are disliked by lots of people. If I had the same temps and couldn't stand the noise, I'd back down on the overclock first. Then I'd try a 50 cfm Sunon 80mm on the HS. They aren't whisper quiet. But they are when compared to ~80 cfm monstro 80mm's!

Some people swear by shims. Their only purpose is to help the ham-handed avoid cracking their fragile AMD slugs. As you know how to be careful, a shim is of no real use.
