and i have bought an old old old old dos game called : "Quarantine" <-- anyone remember this
edit :- as for new games: get quake2, d/l latest 3.2 patch, get one of the well known modified q2's (since id released source code) i recommend something like sulq2, i hear beefquake is good, r1gl. the first and last of these support png skins
and have lotsa stuff, lots of it ripped from the middle one.
- and last but not least get gloom (yes its still alive) get latest mappak, a pak editor, start customizing, d/l some custom models/skinsget glooming
