An update to what I theorized before about the Gromacs. After a lot of reading through old threads in the Beta forum it appears as the big culprit has been instablity and primarily in the Athlon
cpu's. Gromacs stress the
cpu more and probably stresses the memory subsystem some also which does not help components on the edge. It appears, to best of my knowledge, that Stanford does not feel they are safe for general consumption at this time.
