i don't get it either - the boards are etched from template, the components mounted by robots and if the socket's in the wrong place the board wouldn't work, or if a hole's in the wrong place it's cutting tracks
i'm sure CooledByWater knows his business enough not to be mistaken though, and the pic in his first post did show the holes not lining up with the socket. the holes can't be in the wrong place - that only leaves the socket. bizarre mystery.
would have been interesting to see the 2 boards side by side. CooledByWater could you take another close-up pic of the new board for a comparison? i guess it's set up now though...
