SB16's are a good card for their day. If sound quality isn't a must with you, the SB16 is just fine. OTOH, ISA is extinct and newer versions of Linux may not support the olde SB16--at least right out of the OS's box.
my AWE64 is ISA and Redhat8 plug and played it even when i had been using my onboard before this
