The processor will have to be definitely an AMD chip.

As for the chipset of the motherboard, Nforce2 chipset is the way to go for gaming. The MSI Nforce 2 based mobo doesnt cost that much compared to other brands. If thats too expensive, get a mobo based on the VIA KT333 chipset. Although I recommend you give consideration to either a KT400 or Nforce 2 based board because they natively support USB 2.0 and AGP 8X
