Soundstorm / Realtek ALC650E

Apparently both the 8RDA+ and the standard 8RDA come with this same audio chip. What is the difference between the two motherboards then? Is it just the Dolby features of the southbridge? Is there any good software I can use with my 2-channel audio controller that is actually 5.1 I've discovered? I would like something more than the standard windows volume control if there is anything (i.e. equalizer). I'll probably switch to the onboard sound since I'm getting REALLY sick of the Audigy problem.

Oh and please forgive me if this has been answered somewhere else. Links will do just fine as a response
