| I haven't tried to run an 8x agp, but this does sound similar to a device driver problem that I had (one of many). First I would suggest setting your mobo back to the stock speeds while attempting to get the upgrade/update/fix running. You don't want to have too many things happening that can have a negative effect. Get into the hardware manager and delete the device, reboot and let the system re-find the device, and then install the drivers.
