| There is a lot to be said for direction. One should know where they intend to go in the long run. Getting there by the most direct route isn't much fun though. If you have music in your blood, don't forsake it.
I suggest you pick a reasonable / obtainable goal and keep that as your main focus. BUT.... DON'T let it consume you. Moonlight as a sax player and keep the music close to your heart.
Only you know what is going to be tollerable as a job goal. You don't have to commit to it right now but you should take the first couple of steps in that direction. You have many other courses you will need that can apply to whatever you decide to go for. Focus on that foundation and when the time comes for you to commit to a path you will know by then which way to go.
