I assume you are referring here to the XP-M? If so, my experience has been that some chips like volts and some don't. I've had several chips that topped out at 1.8 or 1.9v, and anything past that was just waste heat, and might even REDUCE stability. Then I've had other chips (like the one in my siggy) that just LOVE volts, as long as you can keep them cool.
