From what I gather from what I've read in reviews (and your experience Eshu), it seems that both the OCZ EBs and the Corsair 3200XLs typically run into a wall at ~220 MHz at tight timings at 2.8v. Both of them perform roughly the same on A64s. Volt-modding seems to be the only way to get around it.
I didn't record down how high HTT these PC3700 EBs went with 2.5-2-2 1T timing, but I'll test them again with 2.8v and post back the result.

Vdimm mod is definitely the way to go if you want any serious result.
