I bought a epox 8kmm3i motherboard to build a simple pc for my dad. This project has turned out something less than easy. First I thougt it was dead but it was not. I had to change memory to Kingston to make it boot. So it just wont work with twinmos. Now you know that, donīt try twinmos.
Now I have one more problem to solve. I want to install a modem. First i tried my old trusty 56k modem using serial connection. It didnīt work at all. It confused the modem with the VGA port and I gave it up. So i bought a creative modem blaster USB. Now it installs as com3 and that seems very strange. More important - it doesnīt work. I can get the stats from the modem, but no dialtone. The modem works on my laptop (which is what I am writing this mail on

How do I fix this? Usb should not become com3 right?
