In some computers this would instantly void your warranty, though. I thought about doing something like that when i got my powerbook, but the only thing I can touch in there without screwing up the warranty is the battery and RAM. I dunno about what kind of notebook was bought but sharing the HDD on the network sounds like the best way to do it.
P.S. - I realize that saying that I own a Powerbook may be sacrilege in these forums. Yes, I own a Mac. Yes, I own a PC. I use each of them for different things. The PB gets most of the everyday useage and the XP machine gets used for gaming and modding. Please forgive me for being a heathen, I just love the way Apple does.
