| The only time I have had similar problems it was caused by intermittent contact at the drive connectors. I sprayed the connectors with Servisol Super 10, a contact cleaner/lubricant from Maplins.
This stuff has brought many electrical switches and sliders back to life for me, and has saved me a fortune in replacement hardware over the years.
