| About 15 years ago when most PCs had 640K of memory our Novell server at work had a memory expansion card with, I think 8MB of RAM. It cost about £4000 for that memory, that was about $8000 back then! But I think there were only about 2 factories producing RAM at that time and there were major shortages.
