| i ended up restoring the laptop to factory settings. its a crappy gateway laptop (not mine). it's a friend of mine's who's got a ton of accounting apps and its a pain to install it one by one. sad to say i gave up. personally i can't stand IE but since it's not my pc and i know how addictive some people have gotten to IE...and aol. i haven't tried accessing a website from windows explorer. i didn't think of that.
