| I can sympathize with your problem. Though I have yet to try out the SATA controller on my 8RDA3+, it will not work with my CDRW. Though my CDRW was working fine with my 8K3A+, and has continued to work with every other motherboard I've tried it on, my 8RDA3+ will hang at the POST screen with the IDE cable connected to my Cyberdine CDRW.
It does sound as though you're up against a drive incompatibility issue, or a plain old defective motherboard.
