Woodeirl, you need to keep in mind that it is more than just the amount of GPU's that contribute to performance!
-The 6600GT only has 8 pipelines vs 6800GT has 16 pipelines, doesn't push it up to 16 in SLI, does it?
-The 6600GT uses 128bit memory vs 6800GT uses 256bit memory, and combining two cards does not push it up to 256bit;
-The 6600GT in SLI config has 256mb memory, same as 6800GT, but 6600GT only runs 128bit!!!

Running a 6800GT with 3DMark05 scores above 5000 requires a fair amount of overclocking... I doubt it would've put you above 5800? I stand corrected though... 500marks is bassically the difference between a stock 6800GT and stock 6800Ultra.
Sure the multi GPU's have their advantage... Especially where there is alot of work required! Maybe it will make a noticible difference in video-encoding?!? I haven't tried yet!

A card that truely boasts with great performance stats, is the new X850XT... Just looking at the scores on THG...

Hang in there ATI fan's... I'm sure ATI is going to come up with a very strong counter to SLI!!!!
