BTW I found an even later BIOS, and used it afterwards, and it took care of the "80 pin conductor" error. I shipped the memory back to the manufacturer for a refund/replacement, so I don't know about the memory issue as of yet. Hopefully the newer BIOS will have fixed that as well.
