Yes everything is connected to a surge protector.

What monitor were you using previously?"

No not yet.

Was using a Samsung 1100DF 21" CRT.

Everything was running smoothly right before i added the dell into the mix, i have had this "core system" since july 2005 with NO problems.... till now.
