The hardware is there, ready, but not in retail numbers yet. The cost of ram currently for Vista-planned videocards is quite high still, and a slight deterent, as are yeilds on that ram.

Still, the hardware can be there in the space of 3 months, on the shelves. The software, however...

the transition should take 2 years before Vista is adopted as the norm, and companies have to be prepared for this. Most are, that i have seen, besides software.

I base my hardware claims by what's on the shelves now, and what's order to clear out old stock, hardware vendors need some time. In this way, they are not ready.
