If you have a burned copy of a game at home, and you have paid for a legal copy, its fine. All of my game CDs are copied images on my hard disk, as swapping CDs and damaging $90 original copies is a bad idea. I do however keep at least some identifying part of the game (usually the original disks in the cases) around.

Having a copy of copyrighted material that you have payed for in Australia is fine as far as I know. If its something you scored from a mate, or from the internet, not so legal.

If in doubt, read the EULA.
