depends on the core. I ahve chipped a few myself, but it was purely due to carelessness, and not from tightening my block...venice core is very small, so easy to not crush core, but crush the surrounding SMD's. The Manchester is large enough that this is not really a concern. The toledo cores seem to be fine, but a Sandiego is still quite fragile.

It also depends on the mount...and how you put your block on. As long as you are careful, and the case does not move often, no concern is ever there, IMHO. If you are not careful, and the case moves lots, or goes to LANs, then I'd definately take precautions.

Kepp in mind tho...i never said you had to leave the IHS off...
