just a small note. When checking that cables are seated ok, its best to unplug and plug back in again, inspecting plugs for any signs of damage/warping.

Work your way in is a good idea to, dont just jump straight in there. Ensure power cords are ok (if monitor is powered ok, swap with that cord).

Listen for beep codes too, they can be quite helpful, especially if its a no memory detected beeb code!

also if you have 2 sticks of RAM (or more), it can be one of these causing the failure or one of the slots on the board. Try each stick of memory individually in each slot to work out if its board or which stick is causing the headache
