But do me a favor, and check into that exact time period...samsung has bad ram...7900GTX cards switched to infineon ram...7900GTX becomes 7900GTO...the GTO wasn't a "special edition"...they didn't make those cards specifically for that SKU....the SKU was created to offload the failed cards. No two ways about it.
