| They have a point. If it did have realistic damage, it would be impossible to get an American car from one end of the track to the other with being left with a twisted wreck. The only way to use a Viper, Camaro, Corvette, Mustang, or Cobra is to bounce it off of stuff, and hope that the track doesn't have corners.
