One can only guess why the autoupdater to the latest content patch for the islandic (hehe) MMORPG
EVE online would want to touch anyones boot.ini. And corrupt it. (well ... instead of overwriting the games "boot.ini" it ... went for the windows one ... slight typo with consequences)

It must be an interesting feeling to get an ingame message "This is the dev team ... DONT TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER" hehe
On a sidenote - the problems only affect a few users, and not users of Vista so ... I guess we now have one (1) situation which talks to vistas favour over older windows versions
