This is good news. I hope it is successful, and travels outside of the US.

There are many legit reasons for using p2p.

All linux distros that I know of have torrent options
Many larger open source software (e.g. openoffice) has torrent options

It's an easy and secure way to send private files to another person/people anywhere in the world - I use it for sending/sharing photos with my family

Games are starting to use p2p to send updates - World of Warcraft is an example

Some people I know on dial-up use it for anything they can, as trying to dl even a 20MB file is a pain.

I have seen it effectively used on a network where extremly large video files need to be sent to several computers for work.

There will be other reasons as well.
