| I never liked the X-Fi, had an EMU0404 and an EMU1212 (creative professional line) that were ok, but more so because they were still designed and maintained by Creative's EMU division rather than their Sound Blaster division.
Recently bought an ASUS Xonar. Damn fine card, sounds better than the EMU1212, and the EMU1212 sounds much better than the X-Fi.
There is an alternative thats worth giving a go. <3 ASUS for making cards that don't suck.
