For some reason you did not get correct admin rights to properly install. Did you install dotnet through the admin account? Have you ever had f@h running on this machine before?

In Vista, this would be controlled through the UAR (User Acess Rights) applet in control panel, but you don't run Vista. Do you have something like that in your OS? I'm not familiar enough with it to be able to help you more than that, but I'm quite certain you have a permissions problem.

Just for laughs, try going to your fah directory and type smpd -install. What is the output of that command?
