Yes, it did serve me well, and despite the blaze of glory it was merciful enough to grant me the time to shut down. I think that that should have minimized the damage, though I won't know until my new TT Purepower 500w comes in tomorrow to replace it.
Power supplies like to be exciting, though. Has anyone ever had their CPU, GPU, HDD, or Mobo spontaneously combust? Maybe a couple, but not near as many as those who have tasted the sharp smell of burning insulation as their
PSU begins it's death throes.
