She regretted the loss of a corrupted way of life...she dared to regret the death of evil...Hence, pillar of salt...a senseless image of a woman where a woman once was...The Phrase ."Never look back.." might well spring from this story. Meaning, never reingage past evil lest you become reintangeled in it.
