| I have always been an early adopter with my home rig, my shop rig just got upgraded from a dual P3 setup to a dual Socket 940 Opteron setup this year. I run a few design and simulation programs for my business, dual 1Ghz P3's struggled to finish the sim in 16 hours where my sig rig can finish in just under 2 hours. If I could get that down to one hour, production would increase more than enough to offset a couple of thousand spent.
It also helps that my neighbor has a friend at Intel and I just happen to be building an engine for his 76 BMW 2002.
