Booman, from memory Dell use Sony, Viewsonic and Philips monitors as their OEM's. You may be able to find them cheaper directly.

Those as well as Asus I have seen in the workplace, often several (4+) years old.

One old monitor in use - a Viewsonic 11" LCD was ~10 years old - colour was a bit off as you would expect but it had many more hours on it than you would expect.
