64bit chips, 64bit OS

I'm going to sound awful here...........

I'm not sure about the Audigy 2 - I don't use those Creative cards other than an Extigy which 5 now use as a receiver for my PS2 (about all a Creative sound device is any good for).

I would imagine a "working driver" is in there with perhaps limited functionality - I wouldn't imagine Creative would be very quick in co-developing a driver for some reason.

And for Nvidia cards?? What's the ideal amount and speed on memory? What's the best all around RAID0 striping?

I know that nVidia have drivers that are AMD64. I know that ATI publically announced support for AMD64. However, given Creative Lab's track record for drivers, maybe in a few years?

This document is quite interesting. It lists features not supported in XP64, Media Player is not included in XP64, for example. I don't know if they're just refering to the trial version or the final release.

Which 64bit edition? The details you displayed appear to apply to the Itanium version, not the x86-64/AMD64 edition

Good point as I wasnt sure to go with the retail cpu with cooler or the oem without and get soemthing else?

It states minimum of 1gig of ram there and when I downloaded from MS it said a minimum of 512

You won't even be able to have a tiny little peek at it without your AMD magic decoder ring!!

There it will sit on it's freshly burned CD,....all dressed up and nowhere to go!!

We might even be faced with shortages if we wait!!! You know what that means. Panic buying. A terrible thing to see!!

Better the cold rationalized path of orderly acquisition than face the dollar clinching hoards elbowing their way to a shot at 64 bit glory!

EEEGODS! I hope not! I counted on a 1/2 gig doing the job for me...slower ram or less of it for me!!

I managed to find a couple of reviews where the standard HSF did more or less as well as more expensive after market solutions. I'm tempted to go for retail.
