I don't suppose they will compensate for the dead CPU. I think you said you were having trouble RMAing the second one.

Yes. I was thinking that I wasn't going to get a successful outcome on the board either so I actually bought another If I can get my genuinely better half to agree I'll end up with two

I really like the look of the Zalman you have for this one, either that or I get an adaptor for my cascade water block.

I've got a Zalman on my out-dated 32-bit system - I like it. Needs a bit of a dusting, but I can see that cleaning will be easy compared to a square type HS.

And the anwser is no Ah well, got the new board back. Spoke to them today and the board didn't kill anything at their end, just didn't like anything they put into it.

Just on the off chance I'll try the old chip in the new board tonight.

I have that fan. You can see it in the 64bit photo thread. Works pretty decent. CPU 30 idle, 43 load. Clocked up to FSB 220.

Mine plays up a little when booting XP 64-bit, not always but when it does it gets there in the end. I can't say if this a hardware or software issue, because that's th only OS I have installed. Most of the software is beta anyhow, so it doesn't alarm me too much. Once it's up and running all is well and it is overclocked.

bradmax57, do you have problems with both versions of XP?

Just a quick update on the RMA of the second CPU. As an initial telephone call met with a refusal I decided to write to the MD of the Company I bought it from (OCUK) and gave him the truth, linked to this thread, and asked if they would be prepared to consider the RMA. Explained it wasn't a faulty cpu but unfortunate circumstances.

Cut a long story short they've agreed . Look's like honesty pays. I know for a fact that provided they stock what I want they'll be my first choice supplier.
