XP 64 Bit Programs

Hey.. in your 64 Bit downloads section.. I see you have "SiSoft Sandra SP1" listed.. Now is that "really the 64 Bit version" .. or is it just the 32 Bit version which runs on XP 64?

SiSoft does'nt offer the 64 Bit version for "trial/demo" downloads, that's why I ask.. Thx.

I put that one there - definately 64-bit and working well.

Also, Aida32 v3.93 is 64-bit!

We are trying to ascertain if we have the rights which permit us to host the Sisoft file. If you could contact Gizmo and give us it's source, that would speed things up greatly!

I didn't know it was you. Right now we have each upload in our database according to time of upload and User name. However we are having to do some modifications to make the information more available on demand.

As Admin have several LARGE projects underway I didn't want to ask them to stop and get us the info on the file.

I contacted SiSoftware. This was their response:

You are correct; the Professional versions are all commercial versions and
thus non-distributable. We publish all licences contained within the
packages on our websites

The file has been removed from our files area.

We try very hard to make sure that all of our files are legal for us to distribute. Every now and then one slips through the cracks; after all, we are all human. We appreciate that phat-X brought this to our attention.

Their own site is a little unclear, which is why I misunderstood the situation.

It sure looks up for free download to me! But if they don't want us to we won't. But it says if you want their pro version to go else where, you pay for the standard version to download it?

You can't actually d/l it from their site - it just looks that way. I think they need to adjust that page to make it more obvious that they're selling it. I've come accross a few people who are confused over this one.

If you click on the link to the Win64 version, it has this in the fine print:

As this version is intended for servers and not consumers, we only have the Professional version available at this time. We will of course release a Standard version as the technology becomes mainstream

As I read this, it indicates to me that they still expect you to pay for the Pro version. I'll admit, however, that it is rather confusing, since you get here by following a link from the Sandra Standard page, and it is included on the same page with the Sandra Standard downloads.

I am going to put the question to them again, with this new information (which I did not have earlier). At the very least, they need to make the web site a bit clearer.

Well, I was going to send an e-mail, but it appears to be irrelevant now. There isn't a link that allows it to be downloaded. That pretty much says to me that the only way you can get it is by spending the 9.95 for the preview CD.
