Geil has very low pricing so I think they are more popular to non-enthusiasts. I don't have an A64 system, but my experience has been that they perform only as spec'd... You really can't count on them to overclock much, or run significantly better timings than advertized.

im not so sure about geil being all that cheap? i dont own the geil dragon series but i do got some geil ultra platnium ddr500 that i bought for my intel 2.4c system and for the hell of it i stuck them in my amd 64 3200 system and i was able to get all the way up to 280 at 5:4 prime stable. not bad realy seems these new 64 systems dont take such a performance hit as the xp/barton rigs did? im going to do some more testing on them later on but right now i just stick to the bh-5 and tight timmings.,,

peace perc,

perc, since ddr500? is that 250mhz stock? 280 @ 5:4 (fsb:mem) ratio is only 224mhz on the memory.

I am guessing that bradmax57 was looking at this page:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/GeIL_memory.html

They've just started stocking the new range of Geil modules - they're cheap compared to others. I have no experience of them myself.

yeah your right but i have also tried the stuff in my nf7 mb and was able to run 250 1:1 or 6:6 which ever you wanna call it. so i have had the stuff run what it was speced out as.. other then that they seem like they are decent? i mean i havent got 260 or 270 out of them so i gues they arent anything specail compared to some that exceed thier rated speeds....

peace perc,
