Best 64 motheboard and cpu combo

hey i am new to 64 bit land just wandering if anyone had any advice on best motherboard and cpu combos for overclcoking.....i am going to use asetek watercooling and Corsair TWINX1024-4000 DDR-DIMM 1024MB Kit w/two matched CMX512-4000 DIMMs.

I'm still waiting for the eight way CPUs to come down in price. I can't afford $$$$ figures per CPU!

Bear in mind that the A64 only runs memory in single-channel. AFAIK, those modules should be fine. You can always check the situation with Corsair, they have a compatibilty forum on their web site.

You should be able to find compatibility charts on the board manufacturer's sites.

Of the two combos ive tried so far the abit kv8-max 3 and 3200+ (1mb!!!) has won with me

thought the one in your sig is a mobile 3200 (512k)?

multi is locked at 11, this is a brand new chip its a 3400 with half the L2 cache, the same as the 3000 is to the 3200 (1mb cache)

I am using OZZ DUAL CHANNEL 2x512 1024 on an asus K8V SE Deluxe motherboard. i called OZZ and they said even thou the amd 64 cpu's donot support duall channel memory it woul not hard or couse probles. you see i lucked out i bought this memory for $164.00 at directron. so i could not pass that up. i awate the new mna 64 cpu's that will be on the 739 motherboard that will be able to use dual channel memory.
