If you have a somewhat considerable disposable income, I seriously suggest that you buy gold and sliver to have and to hold, for better, yadda. Silver is extremely cheap now, I'd buy 100 ounce bars as you can afford them. This is the best way to acquire precious metal, with a very small penalty if you must sell it before it appreciates. The price is being held low by the gummint's action in supporting the dollar.
Gold is also being artificially depressed in price too, but not as spectacularly as silver at this time. For about $1400, it's a steal. Sure, it's heavy, but a pleasing kind of weight.

Some insist that a economic collapse hovers before us. It's difficult to get unbiased news about the economy. Had I the extra money, my closet would be heavy with 100 ounce bars of silver. Naysayers abound, yet paper securities or even precious metals ETF's are only paper, with no intrinsic value. The dollar is being supported by the actions of the central banks in the US, the EU, and Japan. They can't keep doing this for all that long. When they no longer are able to buy dollars in concert, and in secret, as it were, it'll resume its slide toward the root cellar. Gold and silver will eventually go through the roof, and stay there for years.

Best to keep it in a very low humidity environment or better, hermetically sealed. Pure silver tarnishes very quickly if handled. Crikey, it turns black. How do I know this? From surveying my piles of 1000 ounce bars, of course. Uhh, I mean Peace silver dollar. Yes, I know that it's not pure silver, yet the lady on the front of it is as black as sin.

Copper and gold are the only pure metals that aren't "white or silver" colored. Wait a minute, is cobalt blue? And if pennies are mostly zinc, how come they look like copper?

Funny, it's very difficult to find silver for sale lately. The bahstages want to have their cake and eat it, too. Artificially depress the spot price, and considerably, too. Then make it unavailable from the US Mint and most coin dealers. Canadian silver Maple Leafs are available, if you buy 500 or more of them. What if you don't have $6350 at hand? Complain, complain.

I thought that generic silver rounds would be blank coins of pure silver. Seems that they are .999 silver, but they exhibit a myriad of stampings, some of which are humorous. Two bucks over spot. I hear it's more expensive on eBay. Talking about money on a Sunday, for shame.
