Silly question

Does 32bits games or applications work with Vista 64Bits??

I'm very new to 64bits computing, so please be gentle.

They should work. However, finding drivers for 64bit Windows operating systems can be problematic, I hear.

So far Prey and FEAR has no problem. Will see with older games (Halo, Doom). THK

From what I've read, they should go.

You should not have any problems with anything developed after 2000.
You may have the occasional problem with games and apps developed before, but that is mainly due to them being developed on a 16bit instruction set not 32bit.

The only application I have had problems with using XP 64bit is Borland 5.02.

Even games such as Command and Conquer 1, and Starcraft played with no problems.

I was not able to get Aquamark3 to run on 64 bit XP, there is a patch for it but it didn't work. Don't know if they have any fix for Vista64.

I didn't think Vista was terrible and if it came on a prebuilt computer I would probably leave it, it's just not better than XP for my needs.

good luck.

While technically you shouldn't have problems with these apps/games, you may do in the way vista handles them.

That will also be why you are having problems with benchmarking tools.

Having had problems installing Office 2007 on vista, being one of a multitude of issues I've had I won't be much help as I haven't used it for a while, and wont be in the future if I can help it.

EDIT
Just saw CP's post Haven't tried aquamark, but none of the others had problems, except for the one that was posted here, can't remember who buy but their company was creating it.

Tried 3Dmark, 01 - 06 and sisoft sandra, and PCMark05
