3000 Or 3400

I currently have a 3000+ newcastle core skt754 cpu running at 2.4ghz, is it worth getting the 3400+ newcastle core (only 110 quid now) or will this not overclock well, I have heard the newcastles top out at about 2400mhz anyway and the stock speed of a 3400+ is 2.4 ghz anyway.

don't do it. i get barely over 2.6ghz, and it was a long road getting it there. Unless you can get a clawhammer 3400+, then get it, but if it's a newcastle, don't bother.

Cadaveca is right, 2.5ghz maybe 2.6ghz is the best to hope for, a clawhammer may be worth it but even then, if you already have 2.4ghz you aren't looking at any huge gains. Save your money and wait for dual cores to come down in price if you want any real performance gains
