I have seen a few cases where those danner pumps have failed (usually by blowing there fuse) although they probably allot better than the very cheap looking no-name pumps they have at my local aquarium.

Well not quite as flexable but doesn't collapse as easy and is still easier to work with then pvc.
As for the chillers yes very intersting. Makes you wonder why you would need to cool a fish to sub zero temps.
