Defective low-ESR aluminum electrolytic capacitors...

Is Epox using any of these defective caps on their boards?

Not at all, I have 2 abit boards in the closet with blown caps (barely 2 years old). Bubble and leaks on over a dozen caps between the 2 boards. Abit might not be alone, but they appear to be the most widespread, AFAIK.

Better than this goes in another topic.

I dont think we can comment on this, so it has no use in the topic.

that's why i apologised for innapropriateness holst. we've all heard about abit's caps already hence my 'joke' but then i didn't think it was right to bring it up, even jokingly, in a 'semi-official' epox forum.

Ack, thats what I get for posting at bed time, I should have thought twice about tossing this up in there

I didn't mean to imply anything whatsoever, I love my Epox boards, been buying over a dozen a month for folks since the 8k7a came out. I haven't had any bad caps, or any other issues, on any of them

Though, it looks like some folks, abit?, are going to have some massive RMA issues rather soon... Maybe Epox gains some market share from this
