Well, it surely has! I tried 152 and had to reghost after it tore up Winders! LOL It wouldnt fix itself with system restore either, good thing I ghosted before setting off to the land of chip warming! I'm doing some more reading about this chip and X-Bit Labs only got it to go to 144 FSB on an 8K3A+, so I'm ahead already!
Let the games begin, thanks for your well wishes and support.

You should only have to close the 5th L3 bridge for 12.5x and under.

Well, I try to be peaceful, so banning would never be an issue.
But you are right...I was gloating before I ever got here!!! LOL

i have an xp2400+ and epox 8k3a+

for the first try i let the xp how it came to me and had full control of multiplier from 15 and up.
to get them you must choose the following multipliers in bios:
7=15
7,5=15,5
8=16
8,5=16.5
9=17
9,5=18

multis 5 to 6(in epox bios 14 is 5 and 15 is 5,5) which should stand for 13 to 14 doesn't work, it seams, that tbred multis only are unlockt above the original default multi

i want to run high fsb, so i closed the 5th L3 bridge and now i have all multiplier from 5-12,5.
my xp2400+ runs now @ 186x12,5

i've heard that the newest asus a7v333 bios let fully control multiplier from 13-22,5 and in another forum somebody has tried this and he can change for example the default multiplier 15 from th xp 2400+ to 14.
so the epox bios isn't able to controll multiplier under the default multi.
maybe epox tech gives us a new bios version with this feature

Well, things don't seem right here.....
I have tried to set the RAM timings at the lowest settings, the IDE drives at ATA 66 and still it won't boot into winders at anything over 149. It ain't stable there either. I have to back down to 148. I have to have the vcore at 2.05 or forget about it as well. The vdimm has to be at least 2.9 also. I ain't worried about temps, these chips are really rated at high temps (70 C) and I'm running at 27 C ambient and 52 C at full load for over 24 hours.
I just can't figure out why I can't get a higher bus speed. Perhaps I should try another BIOS? Any ideas??

Magic smoke got inhaled by Uncle Bob many suns and moons ago, made both of UB's brain cells take long trip to happy hunting ground! Now UB has to stay clean just to find one brain cell to have simple conversation! (I was told by doc it's called "Dain Bramage")

Any way... here's MBM this morning:

No, I'm still liking using the 15 multi, just can't seem to get the FSB over 149. I think this chip should do 2350 at least, maybe I'm wrong.

UB, from what I have been reading it looks like that if you can hit 2350 you will be doing extremely well The highest o/c that I have heard of was 2400 with super cooling. Seems that on air the early release 2400+'s are topping out at about 2250 to 2300
Good luck to you.

Well, that's what I've just been reading as well, oh well. I guess I'll be happy with a 10+% oc. Yes, I'm spoiled by my previous chips...T-bird 1.4 AHYJA and the AGOIA XP 1600!
You know, I'm still rather young at this and I'm always seeking to learn more coupled with the intense desire to put my foot through the floorboard!

I know what you mean:-D I to am relatively new to overclocking
and I try to soak up all the knowledge I can as well. I think it's going to be hard for me to find a better overclocker than my good ol 1GHz AXIA T-Bird I have had it as high as 1570MHz on air and ran it at 1500 stable for near a year. I'm real interested to see what you get with that 2400+ after you unlock it, I'm still undecided on which mobo/cpu combo to go with for my next upgrade
