Is this possible?

Does the RAID controller on a KX7-333 support CD ROMS?

If so, what do I have to do to get them working?

Cheers

some raid controllers can be used as an extra IDE controller. What brand MoBo is that KX7-333 (is it Abit???)?

You may have to do no more than enable the RAID controller in the BIOS. I've never heard of doing this (CD that is) but that don't in itself mean much! LOL Hey, give it a try, what have you got to loose, right?

On High Point's website they state that that controller can be used in 5 modes.

Mirroring
Striping
mirroring + striping
use up to 4 HDDs as one large HDD
And as 2 additional IDE channels.

I can't really find much in the mobo manual though.

The raid controllers themselves are not able to handle CDROMS (ATAPI) exactly. Support must be provided through an additional chip. Older raid mobos did supply this, back when there was a $50 price premium on raid mobos. Today, unfortunately, none (that I'm aware of) do.
