FIC SD11 random reboots

I got an old SD11 thats havin probs.

SD11 /athlon 650 classic
tnt2 vanta16
3com nic
CL ensonic
PC tel platinum

It does it even if its just the vid card in it.

I got a bigass heatsink on the northbridge and the PLL, and the CPU as well, I have to leave the plate on the CPU cause I dont have a sink for the bare PCB. it reeboots itself at random times say anywhere from 3-25 minutes doin nuthin or full load, dont matter. It does it even if its just the vid card in it.

anyone ever mess with these boards? TIA!!!

Whilst you leave the plate on the CPU package, are you confident that the thermal interface is good ?

Does the power regulation package appear to be overheating (Voltage regulator, MOSFETS and FETS/Capacitors)?

I can see that there is grease and not silly putty inder the cach chips, and I have a IR termometer I swept over the board and put a sink on the northbridge and pll generator as a result, but all else seemed OK :P

Wild guess(brain fart?), but is it an insufficient PSU?

PSU's were never really that big an issue until the Cache went on die and the whole package ran at core speed.

In general Athlon Classics were happy with 250W in even their deadliest goldfingered guises.

Weyell....FIC simply does not have a good reputation. The SD-11 reaffirmed this truism. SBT. I think that a later revision of the mainboard fixed some of its glaring problems, but memory doesn't always serve.
