ASUS A7V333-Raid VDimm Question.

Where do you set the VDimm in this thing. I don't have a manual and the one I downloaded from their website doesn't have any info. Anyway, I don't see any settings in the BIOS and I don't know which jumpers. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Mook

yup took me a while to find this info ,first time i was looking for it.
its acuurate and correct as ive tried using it. didnt help me squeeze my corsair anymore tho. i guess 186 fsb is bout enough.

"For whatever their reason, ASUS chooses not to document the Ram voltage. There are two jumpers tucked out of the way just above and to the rear of the AGP connector. They are JP-1 and JP-2. The number one pin on each the lower of the three. Like this:

JP1 JP2
3o 3o
2o 2o
1o 1o

The following table shows the combination of voltages obtainable:

JP1 [1-2] - JP2 [1-2] = 2.50volt
JP1 [2-3] - JP2 [1-2] = 2.65volt (default)
JP1 [1-2] - JP2 [2-3] = 2.75volt
JP1 [2-3] - JP2 [2-3] = 2.80volt

Hoot" This is the person who originally posted the info

also can over volt the vcore by the jumper above the cpu.
when u enable it make sure the bios vcore is set to lowest output.
when enabled the lowest vcore setting is now 1.9v-2.1v read in mbm5 ,BUT bios still reads the original outputs so be carefull and dont get confused and smoke a chip.

good for h20 cooled rigs as i threw my temps out the roof with air.

Thanks for the info. Never getting another Asus. Too much opening and closing of the box...

Ah, I had it all in here for you, Mook...

I like the board. Once everything is setup properly the way you want it, you are good to go... I don't think opening the box once or maybe twice to get it all set up is that bad ...

I have both jumpers set to 2-3, I guess that means I'm getting 3.0V? MBM doesn't seem to have the module for VDimm on this board. Regardless, I was running 3.2V previously, so I had to slow down some of the memory timings. The board was only $55 for a refurb so I went and ordered it when I was getting a bunch of other stuff. It seems to be running fine now since I dropped the memory timings. I do have to say one thing about Asus, they're not the fastest boards, but they're always rock stable, and that's what I wanted/needed for this particular machine.

Well, all my other boards are either EPoX or Abit, which pretty much has all the controls in BIOS. Once those machines are up, I hardly ever have to open 'em back up. Now with EPoX's "Watching Dog" (who makes up these names) I don't even have to bother with the CMOS jumper.

I think I may not have been clear enough. It's currently at 3.0V because I believe that's the high for the A7V333. All the hardware was previously on a 8KHA+ and I used that to run the Crucial at 3.2V.
